What Are No-Prep Zirconia Veneers?
No-prep zirconia veneers (also called prepless or prep-free zirconia veneers) are ultra-thin restorations bonded directly to the front surface of your teeth enamel — designed to need no removal of natural enamel beforehand, whether milled at 100 or 200 microns. Unlike traditional porcelain veneers, which usually require a dentist to reduce part of the tooth to make room for the restoration, no-prep designs are milled thin enough to sit over the existing tooth structure.
Dr. Mechev designs and mills many no-prep zirconia veneer cases in our own in-house CAD/CAM digital dental lab using the Ceramill Motion 2 system. Keeping the design and milling process in-office means faster turnaround time of only 2 weeks and tighter quality control compared to sending impressions out to a third-party dental lab.

Your visit starts with a smile consultation and digital scan, where Dr. Mechev reviews your goals and evaluates whether a prepless zirconia design fits your case. Digital impressions are used to design each veneer precisely around your existing tooth shape and bite.
Because all cases are milled in-house on the Ceramill Motion 2, Dr. Mechev can often shorten the number of visits to only 2 compared to sending the case out to an external dental lab. Final fit, bite, and shade are checked and adjusted before the veneers are permanently bonded.
